The Bright Girls Shella Secondary School is a public school  part of the government Ministry of Education district - Lamu County.

To function it gets needed charitable support from the NGO - Constituency Development Funds CDF and other charitable groups.

It was founded in 2010 as a single streamed girls Day school. The school has experienced growth, expansion in enrolment and facilities. It had an enrollment of 110 students in the year 2012 but now holds a population of 316 students. It is a two streamed school for form 2, 3 and 3 stream for form 1. The school has the breathing session for the students. The school has 12 TSC employed teachers and 4 B.O.M teachers.
